Wattevah has always had a definite and precise attitude to their career right from its inception, having survived both the feverishness and the fluctuations of the music business.
Wattevah has supported many international artists in their homeland, South Africa. These include:- Usher, Luther Vandross, The Spice Girls, Wet Wet Wet, The Manhattans, Atlantic Starr, Imagination, The O’Jays, Leo Sayer, Billy Ocean and Percy Sledge (providing backing for the latter two as well).

The massive Staying Alive Aids concert in Cape Town together with international acts, Alicia Keys, P Diddy, Usher and local stars. This show was filmed by MTV and viewed by an audience of 2 billion people on Aids Day.

They performed to over 100000 people at the massive “Concert in the Park”, shows in South Africa.

They were the first South African group to play with an international act at the Sun City Superbowl, situated 1½ hours from Johannesburg, supporting British artist Leo Sayer. Many famous artists have appeared at this venue, including, Queen, Rod Stewart, George Benson, Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli, etc.

They blew the 50000-strong audience away at the “Olympic Announcement Event” at the Grand Parade, Cape Town, proving to be the most popular act by far.

The group was part of the highly successful “Lion Lager Road Show”, which toured extensively throughout the country performing on stages created and supported by massive pantechnicons, bringing music to the townships and rural areas. They shared the stage with many professional colleagues, including Ladysmith Black Mambaso, P.J.Powers and Hotline, Brenda Fassie, Rebecca Malope, Soul Brothers and many more talented artists.

Wattevah now spend more than 6 months of the year performing outside of South Africa. International trips have included numerous performances in Australia, Seychelles, the Middle East and other African countries. Wattevah were awarded for their amazing performance at the International Showdown of bands in Dubai, competing against bands from Canada, Australia, Sri Lanka, Philippines and other countries.
Wattevah are an extremely versatile band and it is none more apparent on their latest CD release, “Still Standing”. Although best known as a R&B /Pop band, their music has many other influences including rock, African and hip-hop. Other artists who have influenced them over the years include amongst others, Carlos Santana, Sting, Take 6, Brian McKnight, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Earth, Wind and Fire.
Wattevah has had numerous chart successes (they have topped many charts on countless radio stations in South Africa), and have always backed up their accomplishments with live performances before hundreds of thousands of fans from around the world.
